Localizing a language learning app isn't just about translating words. It's about making sure every joke lands, every instruction makes sense, and every lesson feels like it was written for a Turkish speaker — not adapted for one. Since 2017, we have partnered with Duolingo on Turkish QA testing, translation, and content review — covering everything from app copies and push notifications to email marketing — helping maintain the quality and cultural resonance of one of the world's most beloved learning platforms across the Turkish market.
Red Bull Music Academy — Talent Scout, 2011
Red Bull Music Academy is one of the most prestigious platforms in the world for discovering and nurturing emerging music talent. In 2011, we joined the academy as a talent hunter for the Turkish market — scouting artists across genres, managing applications, and conducting interviews to identify musicians with the potential and vision to represent Turkey on a global stage. It was equal parts cultural radar work and relationship building, requiring a deep ear for emerging sounds and an instinct for artists who were ready to break through.
Red Bull Warm Up — Project Coordinator, 2015 & 2016
Red Bull Warm Up brought together some of the most exciting emerging acts in Turkey's live music scene. Across two consecutive editions in 2015 and 2016, we served as project coordinator — managing artist liaison and overseeing marketing and promotion to ensure each event reached the right audiences and delivered the kind of high-energy experience the Red Bull brand is known for. Working across both the creative and logistical sides of the project, we helped bring the vision from concept to stage.
Upwork is the world's largest work marketplace, connecting businesses with independent talent across every discipline and time zone. We partnered with Upwork on global content marketing, serving as subject matter expert for Upwork's award-winning Resource Center — averaging five support tickets closed a day while keeping content accurate, up to date, and fully maintained.
We coordinated content pipelines from agency and third-party writers using Asana, managing publication workflows within a one-day turnaround and troubleshooting wherever the process needed it. All vendor relations ran through us too — proofreading and editing every piece from third-party agencies and independent writers before it went live. At peak output, we completed sixty content briefs per month while collaborating with a cross-functional marketing team to generate all necessary assets for content deliverables.
Getting content marketing right at this scale requires more than good writing. It takes operational discipline, editorial judgment, and the ability to hold a high standard across a large and constantly moving body of work.
Vice Media is one of the world's most influential youth culture and media brands, known for its bold, boundary-pushing storytelling across digital, film, and television. We collaborated with Vice Media Europe on a special project in Istanbul — conducting influencer research in support of a partnership with Nike, identifying the voices, creators, and cultural figures best positioned to connect with Turkey's youth culture landscape.
The work required a deep understanding of Istanbul's creative scene — who was shaping culture, who had authentic influence, and who aligned with the values both Vice and Nike were looking to amplify. It was research rooted in cultural fluency, not just data, and delivered the kind of on-the-ground insight that only comes from being genuinely embedded in a market.
Airbnb Experiences is one of the most innovative expansions of the Airbnb platform — connecting travelers with locals who offer unique, hand-crafted experiences that go far beyond sightseeing. As an Airbnb Experiences Ambassador across both the United States and Turkey, we worked on the ground to grow and maintain the quality of the Experiences ecosystem in both markets.
The role spanned the full host journey — from identifying and recruiting new hosts with the potential to create standout experiences, to training and onboarding them onto the platform, to reviewing experiences for quality and ensuring every listing met Airbnb's standards for authenticity and excellence. Operating across two culturally distinct markets required both a sharp eye for what makes an experience truly compelling and the interpersonal skills to bring new hosts into the community with confidence.
It is the kind of role that sits at the intersection of culture, travel, and community — three things we have always been deeply at home in.
ETL Records is an independent record label with a rich roster of artists spanning multiple genres and markets. As General Manager of ETL Records' USA branch, we led the label's international operations end to end — overseeing artist management, A&R and talent development, distribution and licensing, marketing and promotion, and the day-to-day administrative operations that keep a label running at its best.
At the heart of the role was leading international projects with a diverse roster of artists, including Davide Dalmonte and Rana Turkyilmaz — managing their careers across borders and ensuring their music reached the right audiences in the right markets.
Muse is the world's leading collaboration platform for the music industry, built to connect artists, labels, and music professionals in one seamless creative workspace. As Head of Partnerships, we led global brand partnership strategy and artist relations — identifying, developing, and nurturing the relationships that sit at the heart of what makes Muse work.
The role required operating at the intersection of the creative and commercial sides of the music industry, building trust with artists while aligning partnership opportunities with Muse's broader platform vision. From cultivating brand relationships to managing artist-facing communications on a global scale, we brought both the strategic oversight and the personal touch that meaningful partnerships demand.
Codesmith is a New York-based technology school specializing in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning — training the next generation of engineers and AI practitioners through intensive, immersive programs. We worked with Codesmith on project management, supporting the smooth running of the school's operations across program and curriculum coordination, student relations, and day-to-day administrative management.
The role required keeping multiple moving parts in sync — ensuring programs ran on schedule, students had the support they needed throughout their journey, and operations ran efficiently behind the scenes. Working inside a fast-paced, technically demanding educational environment meant staying organized, responsive, and solutions-oriented at every stage. It is the kind of work that rarely gets the spotlight, but makes everything else possible.
Institut Français Istanbul is the cultural and educational hub of the French Embassy in Turkey, connecting Istanbul's creative community with French language courses, arts programming, and cultural events. We provided PR, social media, and design support across two distinct pillars of their work — the institute's language and cultural courses, and the XXF music festival, one of their flagship cultural events.
The work spanned the full communications spectrum — from crafting press releases and managing media outreach to creating social media content, designing visual assets, and driving event promotion. Representing an institution of this cultural weight required both creative precision and an understanding of how to speak to Istanbul's arts and culture audience authentically. Whether promoting a French language course or building anticipation for a live music event, we brought consistency, creativity, and cultural sensitivity to every touchpoint.
Flipboard is one of the world's leading content curation and discovery platforms, bringing together news, culture, and ideas from across the web into a personalized magazine-style experience. Over seven years, we built and led Flipboard's Turkish presence from the ground up — spanning content curation, community management, localization, and publisher relations.
As Flipboard Turkey's curator and community manager, we grew the platform's Turkish audience from 60,000 to 8.4 million followers in just five years — a testament to the power of consistent, culturally intelligent content strategy. We curated news and content feeds that resonated with Turkish readers, built and managed a thriving community around the platform, and liaised with local publishers and media to bring the best of Turkish digital media onto Flipboard. We also set up and managed email and push notification campaigns to 5 million active users across Android and iPhone, analyzing performance and consistently achieving an average open rate of 7% across both platforms.
As Localization Manager, we took ownership of the Turkish language experience across the app — translating and localizing content, managing Turkish language standards, and ensuring every touchpoint felt native to a Turkish-speaking audience rather than simply translated. We also onboarded 60+ local publishers onto the platform, expanding Flipboard's Turkish content ecosystem and cementing its position as a credible destination for Turkish readers.
Seven years. 8.4 million followers. 60+ publishers. 5 million active users reached. A community built with intention, one story at a time.
Microsoft's MSN is one of the world's most visited web portals, delivering news, entertainment, and lifestyle content to millions of readers globally. In 2011 and 2012, we worked on the MSN Turkey Entertainment section — writing editorial content and curating entertainment news for one of the most visited digital destinations in the Turkish market.
The work required a sharp editorial eye and a strong pulse on Turkish pop culture — knowing which stories mattered to Turkish readers, how to frame them compellingly, and how to maintain the quality and tone expected of a global platform with Microsoft's name behind it. It was an early and formative experience in digital content creation at scale, working inside one of the world's most recognized technology brands at a pivotal moment in the evolution of online media in Turkey.
The Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul is one of the most culturally active diplomatic missions in Turkey, with a long-standing commitment to supporting arts, culture, and fashion on an international stage. In 2016, we collaborated with the Consulate on Swedish Fashion Days — handling PR and media outreach to build awareness and generate coverage for one of the most exciting cultural crossovers between Sweden and Turkey's creative communities.
The work required navigating both the diplomatic and the creative worlds simultaneously — understanding the cultural significance of the event while crafting communications that resonated with Istanbul's fashion and arts media landscape. It was a collaboration that sat at the intersection of culture, diplomacy, and style, and one that reflected our broader experience working across international institutions and creative industries.
Puglia is one of Italy's most breathtaking regions — a sun-drenched stretch of coastline, ancient olive groves, and deeply rooted culinary traditions that tell the story of southern Italy at its most authentic. We worked with Puglia Regional Tourism Promotion to bring the region's unique character to Turkish audiences, handling press releases, media outreach, event promotion, and influencer and community outreach to generate awareness and excitement around what Puglia has to offer.
The work was as much about storytelling as it was about promotion — translating the sensory richness of Puglia's food, culture, and landscape into communications that resonated with Istanbul's culturally curious, travel-hungry audience. Connecting a region this distinctive with the right voices and the right media requires both creative sensitivity and strong local relationships, and that is exactly what we brought to the collaboration.
The Australian Embassy in Turkey represents one of the world's most dynamic and culturally diverse nations on an international stage. In 2015, we provided PR support for a landmark moment in diplomatic history — the centenary of Australia and Turkey's relationship, marking 100 years of ties forged through shared history, mutual respect, and enduring cultural connection.
The work spanned press releases, media outreach, event promotion, and cultural program communications — building awareness and generating coverage for a milestone that carried deep significance for both nations. Communicating a centenary of this weight required both precision and cultural sensitivity, crafting messaging that honored the gravity of the occasion while resonating authentically with Turkish audiences. It was a rare and meaningful opportunity to contribute to a chapter of history that belongs equally to both countries.
